张健,教授,博士生导师,加拿大引进人才
In 1994, curiosity about science and Israel drove me to the Weizmann Institute of Science at Rehovot to start graduate school in molecular genetics and biotechnology after finishing my undergraduate degree in Beijing and working at the Chinese Academy of Science for 4 years. I then moved to the University of Guelph, Ontario, in 1998 where I completed my Ph.D. After working briefly as a post-doctoral researcher in the field of Environmental Biology at the University of Guelph, I joined the Alberta Research Council (Alberta Innovates Technology Futures/ Alberta Innovates) in 2005, and started my long-term adventures in applied genomics, genetic engineering, improving food safety, environmental related studies, functional food, smart agriculture and new materials research. In 2020, I joined Jilin Agricultural University as a full professor in the area of Smart Agriculture (Precision Agriculture) and plant genomics and phenomics research focusing initially with flax, peanut, Canola, alfalfa and hemp.
